Master Plan Forum draws a crowd; Phase 2 begins

The first of a series of master plan events took place at Fuller Villages yesterday morning as Milton began the process of “planning its future and preserving its past”. The event was well attended, well run, and productive. Residents throughout town spent ~ 3 hours in reviewing, brainstorming, and discussing the goals and objectives that will eventually be distilled into a document that will guide Milton’s future development regarding commerce, open space, recreation, housing, transportation, and historic preservation.

Wildcat playoff runs continue!

wildcat-logoThe boys hockey team was knocked out of the playoffs in a tough loss to to Barnstable 4-3; but the girls are rolling on. The girls hockey team is on fire. The #26 seed, they stunned Archbishop Williams (#7) and then shut out Cohasset (#10) 4-0. They will take on Wellsley (#2) this Saturday, March 8th at 5:15 at the Gallo rink in Bourne.

The Boys Basketball team (#12) is also moving on!

Registration Now Open for Run Milton Half-Marathon

Registration for the Run Milton Half Marathon is now open. This town-wide running race will take place in Milton, Mass., on Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. ET. Between 200 and 300 runners are expected to participate from Milton, Boston, communities on the South Shore and beyond.

Revised 40B application for Hendries submitted, comment clock ticking

Mass Housing has notified the town that 131 Eliot Street LLC has revised their proposal for a 40B development at the site of the Hendries property and applied for a letter of eligibility, the first step in the process. The town now has a 30 days on which to comment on the proposal. The current plan scales back the size of the original proposal from 72 units to 57 units and reduces the height from 7 stories to 5 stories with certain portions being 3 stories.

Welcome to the Milton Brook Walk

This idea would capitalize on MILTON’S FOUR MAJOR BODIES OF WATER: Pine Tree Brook, Pope’s Pond, Turner’s Pond and the Neponset River. It would create a NEW TOWN ASSET, a recreational and educational path all the way from the Blue Hills (Milton Town Forest / Ulin Rink) to the Neponset River at Central Ave.
