What Town Meeting Means to Us

“What Town Meeting Means to Us?” an educational program directed to inform the residents of Milton about Representative Town Meeting and the processes for seeking election will be airing on Milton Cable Television .  Please consult Milton Cable Television Guide for dates and times.

The purpose of this educational program hosted by Town Clerk, Susan M. Galvin is to provide the citizens of Milton with information on the vital role Town Meeting Members serve in the community of Milton. Ms. Galvin stated “Town Meeting Members are essential in providing the citizens of Milton with clear access to their local government.”

Each of the ten precincts within the Town were represented by current Town Meeting Members.  PRECINCT 1 – Jeffrey R. Stone, PRECINCT 2 –Rebecca M. Padera, PRECINCT 3- Virginia M. Donahue King, PRECINCT 4- Virginia C. Hannigan, PRECINCT 5- James G. Mullen, Jr., PRECINCT 6- Thomas A. Caldwell, PRECINCT 7-John Thomas Galvin, IV, PRECINCT 8- Barbara C. Martin, PRECINCT 9- Benjamin A. MacNeil, PRECINCT 10 –Hyacinth Crichlow, as well as Town Moderator, Brian M. Walsh.

Nomination papers are available in the Office of the Town Clerk until March 11, 2014. To be placed upon the ballot, Town Meeting Member candidates must obtain a minimum 10 legible signatures from the precinct in which they reside.  Town Wide candidates must obtain a minimum of 50 legible signatures from registered voters.  Nomination papers must be returned to the Board of Registrars at the Office of the Town Clerk for certification by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in order to have your name placed upon the ballot on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
