Registration Now Open for Run Milton Half-Marathon

Registration for the Run Milton Half Marathon is now open. This town-wide running race will take place in Milton, Mass., on Saturday, April 5, at 10 a.m. ET. Between 200 and 300 runners are expected to participate from Milton, Boston, communities on the South Shore and beyond. The 13.1-mile course starts and finishes on the grounds of Fontbonne Academy. Interested participants can register online at www.racewire.com. The registration fee is $65 for adults; $45 for those 18 or under. Registration will close on Thursday, April 3, at 10 p.m. ET.

The event will serve as a fundraiser for two organizations with strong histories of helping Milton residents stay healthy. The co-beneficiaries of Run Milton are the Milton Council on Aging Transportation Fund, which covers the cost of transporting seniors to and from medical appointments, and the Wellness Center at Fontbonne Academy, which teaches young women the importance of a healthy lifestyle. Net proceeds will be donated in equal amounts to these organizations.

“Run Milton is a terrific way to bring our community together to test their physical abilities by running a half marathon, and to show how we can work together to help students and seniors alike stay healthy,” said Maureen Conlon, Run Milton founder and race director and owner of Milton Boot Camp. “Our goal is to help raise needed funds for specific programs that address the challenges young women face as they learn how to lead a healthy lifestyle. And for our seniors, we can make a direct impact on their ability to keep their doctor’s appointments by helping raise money for the vans used to drive them – and ensure they receive the medical care needed to maintain optimal health.”

In addition to running the race, select sponsorship opportunities are available.
