Planning your Vegetable Garden, a workshop at the MPL

The secret to a great vegetable garden is in the planning, and according to gardening expert Betty Sanders, it’s never too early to start the planning process.  Betty will share her gardening tips at a workshop called Tips for a Better Vegetable Garden, on Sunday, March 16, at 2pm, at the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue, in the Keys Community Room (lower level).

A Lifetime Master Gardener, Betty is also a nationally accredited flower show judge. She studied gardening at the Arnold Arboretum, the New York Botanical Garden, and the New England Wildflower Society. She has lectured at the New England Flower Show, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, and Tower Hill Botanical Garden, as well as at numerous garden clubs, and civic organizations. Her website www.bettyongardening.com, offers a variety of tips for avid gardeners, including a section called “Horticultural Hints” where she offers a monthly “to do” list of garden chores.

This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library and light refreshments will be served.  For more information, contact Adult Services Librarian Jean Hlady, at 617-698-5757 or visit the Library’s website at www.miltonlibrary.org.
