There can be no more tantalizing goal for a local baseball player than to someday play at Fenway Park.
It looks like Milton’s Alex Hassan is going to experience the next best thing this season – performing at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket with the Red Sox’s Triple-A affiliate. (Read the full story here.)
The Milton Players will staging Neil Simon’s classic comedy The Odd Couple, the 1965 Broadway hit, about a slob and a neat freak who set up housekeeping together after their wives leave them. The play went on to become a successful movie and a long-running television series as well as various other derivative entertainments.
News release from the Milton Police Department
On Thursday evening, January 12th at approximately 9:00 p.m., Milton Police received several 911 calls reporting shots fired in the area of Union Avenue/Oak Street/Blue Hill Avenue. While some media outlets have stated that this incident was a result of a road rage incident, there is no evidence of that and the exact motivation for this shooting remains under investigation. A synopsis of what transpired follows.

Last night at 9:00 P.M. several 911 calls reported the sound of gun shots in the vicinity of Oak Street and Route 138. The shots fired apparently stemmed from a road rage incident on Brush Hill Road. No one was injured. By 2:00 A.M. three suspects were in custody. They will be arraigned this morning at Quincy District Court: two on murder charges and one for unlawful possession of a handgun.
The Milton Library Foundation has announced that they are the most recent recipient of the gracious generosity of the Copeland Foundation. The donation of $100,000 will establish The Copeland Famly Foundation Endowment Fund. The interest from the fund will be applied to the purchases of books to enhance the collection.
The Milton Public Library has launched customer feedback tools and wants to hear from you!
