Youth Trail Run for students in Gr 1-8
The Milton High School Cross Country team is hosting at Youth Trail Run on Sunday, November 16th. The race, to be held at Turner’s Pond, will be open to any student in Grades 1 to 8. There will be a one-mile race for 1st & 2nd graders; a 1.5 mile race for 3rd – 5th graders, and a 2.5 mile race for 6th-8th graders.

2014 Fall Town Meeting – Day 2: Condos receive green light; Fire space update; and oh those easements

Milton has a new condominium/ townhouse bylaw for the St Pius property at 365 Brush Hill Road. In introducing the bylaw, Alex Whiteside, Chair of the Planning Board, said that the bylaw developed out of “intensive negotiations between the developer, Northland Development, the abutters, and the Planning Board.” Ned Corcoran, a town meeting member and the attorney representing Northland, presented the proposal, which calls for 36 townhouse units to be built on the site.

The Selectmen have received notice from Department of Housing and Community Development (DCHD) that their Housing Production Plan has been approved. This brings the town one step closer to being able to rebuff unwanted 40B proposals. The effective date is October 22, 2014.

Cosplay is coming to Milton tomorrow! Cosplay is a kind of costume play, in which participants called cosplayers wear costumesand fashion accessories to represent a specific character or a concept. For their inspiration, cosplayers usually use manga and anime, comic books and cartoons, video games, and live-action films. But they might do just about anything!

If you enjoyed the discussion of whether the “E” in enterprise should be capitalized or not at last spring’s town meeting, you would have loved last night’s grammatical wrangling with a missing comma.
At the first night of the 2014 fall Town Meeting members voted on articles 1 through 8 and 13. All passed with one exception. (You can find a copy of the the warrant here.) Following is a summary of some of the key votes taken.
