In many cultures, the end of October and the beginning of November is marked by events that celebrate and remember the transitions from life to death with Halloween, All Souls Day, All Saints Day, Dia de los Muertos, and Samhain. This year, First Parish Milton Unitarian Universalist Church will be having a special service of remembrance in the Sanctuary on Sunday, November 2.
During this special service, a colorful display of mementos dedicated to loved ones will be assembled. Anyone in the community who wishes to remember a loved one, particular those who have passed this year, is warmly invited to attend.
Those who come should bring a small dish of their loved one’s favorite food, flower, or any kind of memento of them to the sanctuary**.** The service begins at 10:30, and there will be a coffee hour with refreshments, immediately afterward.
First Parish is located at 535 Canton Avenue in Milton, MA. The Meeting House is accessible to all and has hearing devices and large print hymnals available if needed. There is childcare available for infants and toddlers. Call (617) 698-6329 or email membership@fpmilton.org with any questions.
