Poem(s) for the day 10.25.14

Today is St. Crispin’s Day.It was on this day the English, though vastly outnumbered, defeated the French in the Battle of Agincourt.

from the St. Crispin’s Day speech, Henry V – read the full text here.

This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne’er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;

It is also the anniversary of the Charge of the Light Brigade famously commemorated in this poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson.
