Milton Residents Appear in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum”

News from Riverside Theater Works

Three Milton residents have featured roles in “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” coming this November to Riverside Theatre Works in Hyde Park.

An uproarious musical about love and mistaken identity in Ancient Rome, “Forum” tells the story of Pseudolus, a slave who hatches a plot to win his freedom by matching his young master to a lovely but dim-witted courtesan.

Performances are November 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 8 p.m. and November 16 and 23 at 3 p.m. Tickets cost $18-25, and are available at www.rtwboston.org or by calling 1-866-811-4111.

Mark Anderson plays Senex, a henpecked senator who lives in a less-than-fashionable neighborhood of Rome. PK Egersheim plays his neighor Marcus Lycus, who runs a house of courtesans. Jim Foster plays Senex’s other neighbor, Erronius, an elderly man on a search for his missing children. All of them get caught up in a feast of slapstick and showgirls, featuring the songs of Stephen Sondheim.
