Winterfire draws small, appreciative crowd in Milton

As New Englanders watched the Patriots on Saturday night, a few strangers gathered around a fire under the stars in Milton.

The path to the fire was lit with candles tucked into white paper bags. Bulbs dangled from the trees on a walkway leading the way to the outdoor fire at the Wakefield Estate where kids laughed as they burned marshmallows from the ends of sticks. (Read the full story here).

It was really quite the affair, a high tea, right here in Milton! For the 2nd year running the Friends of the Library hosted a sold out event, the Downton Abbey Tea. To be honest it was all quite posh.

Two break ins at local businesses

The Milton Police have confirmed two break ins at businesses on opposite sides of town.

In East Milton someone broke into Stella’s restaurant  during the overnight hours last Sunday night or early Monday morning. They gained entry by kicking in one of the doors.

BSA award John Cronin the James E. West Fellowship

On Saturday January 3, retired Milton Town Administrator John Cronin was presented with the James E. West Fellowship of the Boy Scouts of America, by the youth members of the Order of the Arrow, Moswetuset Lodge. At their annual banquet at the Marriot Quincy, they cited his service to others since 1947.

There have been at least 3 serious accidents in the last two days. Cars collided with poles: one on Granite Avenue and another on Brook Road.
