St. Michael’s Welcomes New Parish Sexton

Screen Shot 2015-01-16 at 8.22.16 PMSt. Michael’s Episcopal Church is pleased to announce the addition of Dennis Mackler as Parish Sexton.  In his new role, Mr. Mackler will oversee the maintenance of St. Michael’s Church which has stood for over 100 years on Randolph Avenue, as well as the Village School and the Garden of Seasons.

Board of Appeals rules on East Milton Restaurant

The Board of Appeals, Emanuel Alves, Virginia King (Hearing Chair), and Frank O’Brien ruled that the parking for a proposed restaurant in East Milton is sufficient. They also voted to grant a special permit that was required to address a set back issues.

Sweet Harmony to perform at MPL

Screen Shot 2015-01-16 at 3.15.54 PMThe Milton Public Library will host a one-hour concert with a very talented 5-female singing group called “Sweet Harmony” on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 2 PM.  This ensemble will do a tribute to the golden age of Broadway, Hollywood and pop music.

Meeting: Board of Selectmen

The Board of Selectmen will be meeting on Wednesday 1/21 at 7:00pm in the Cronin Conference Room. The agenda includes but is not limited to a meeting with the Sign Review Committee, discussion of Town Administrator role with Colleen Corona (Easton Selectman), demolition agreement deadline for Hendries, and Swift Hat Committee charge. Thayer’s special permit off to rough start

The Planning Board opened a hearing on Thayer Nursery‘s special permit application to have a landscaping business at its site on Hillside Street. There is a long history here of abutter complaints. Rulings by the courts and Board of Appeals have gone against Thayer. In May of 2014 Town Meeting passed a bylaw that would empower the Planning Board to grant a special permit for a landscaping business.
