Notice from the Milton Dept of Public Works
The Town of Milton DPW would like to inform residents of a Water Main break located at Taylor Road Area, Milton, MA
This was a totally unexpected event, and beyond our control. Water service may be interrupted in this area today 01/07/2015. Periods of rusty water or no water may be expected.

PLEASE RUN TAP WATER BEFORE DOING LAUNDRY TO MAKE SURE ALL RUST HAS BEEN CLEARED FROM THE LINE
Crews are currently on the scene making repairs. We expect to have all repairs completed and water service back on by tonight

Why all the water main breaks all of a sudden? Realize it is winter but I thought Milton was paying a ransom amount of money to the MWRA to insure the water mains in Milton were in good shape. If I remember correctly many roads were nearly shut down a year or so ago to put in new water mains. Will this water loss affect Milton’s water use assessment by the MWRA?
