On Saturday January 3, retired Milton Town Administrator John Cronin was presented with the James E. West Fellowship of the Boy Scouts of America, by the youth members of the Order of the Arrow, Moswetuset Lodge. At their annual banquet at the Marriot Quincy, they cited his service to others since 1947.
A $1,000 donation was made, in his honor, to the endowment trust fund of the Boston Minuteman Council Boy Scouts of America, Unquity Road, Milton. The Order of the Arrow is the national honor society of the Boy Scouts of America. The 171,000 members have a commitment of service to others. James E. West, 1876 to 1948, an attorney,was the first Chief Scout Executive, and under the administration of President Theodore Roosevelt is credited with establishing the first juvenile court system.
