This month, the Wakefield Estate kicks-off its 2014 Stone Soup and Speakers Series, held in the early evening on the final Thursday of each month. The first takes place January 30th from 5:30 – 7:00pm. These warm and casual programs happen in the historic Isaac Davenport mansion house where guests can enjoy a bowl of tasty home-made soup while enjoying a short presentation by a featured speaker.

Brief bit: MassPort installs additional noise monitoring device

MassPort has installed an additional noise monitoring device to record sound levels from flights on runway 33L. The device is on Denis Keohane’s property. Keohane, Chair of the Board of Selectmen, had been asked if he would be willing to house the device as MassPort had been unable to find a volunteer in the area.

Meeting: Board of Selectmen
The Board of Selectmen will be meeting on January 21 in the Cronin Conference Room at Town Hall at 6:30PM. The agenda includes but is not limited to: a discussion with Robin Tagliaferri of the Forbes House, the Town Audit report, and 2014 Town Meeting articles. The Jackie Robinson Story” at the MPL
Dreaming of baseball season? Be inspired by history. Chadwick Boseman and Harrison Ford star in “the movie, “42: The Jackie Robinson Story” that will run on Monday, January 27 downstairs at the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue beginning at 6:30 p.m. The free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Library, is open to the public.
