The Planning Board will be meeting on Thursday, January 23rd at 6:30 in the Cronin Conference Room at Town Hall. The agenda includes but is not limited to an ANR at 41 Antwerp St., a Master Plan update, and a discussion of the Housing Production Plan. An interesting article in todays Globe discusses compensation for elected officials on the South Shore, For most on town boards, it’s not for the money (note the article is behind a paywall). It surveyed 48 communities. Compensation can include a stipend or salary, reimbursement for expenses, and fringe benefits. As the headline indicates elected officials don’t do it for the money and Milton officials are no exception. But they can enjoy a fringe benefit.
New England Ctr for Homeless Veterans present Fuller Village with Historic Flag
Fuller Villager residents have a longtime relationship with Veterans from the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. Every holiday season, Fuller Village hosts a Cribbage Match and Luncheon with the Veterans where residents donate clothing and money to the Center. This year they were surprised with a framed American flag that was flown in honor of Fuller Village
Animal Mania and ART Journaling open for registration @ Artspace Milton
Artspace Milton is opening doors to creativity for students in Grades 3-5. They are offering two classes. Animal Mania introduces students to animals in art. Students will create beautiful portraits of pets, learn ”craftydermy”, make sculptures, drawings and various creations of all things animal. Art Journaling will exercise imaginative muscles with collages, mixed mdi a, comics and sketching.
Reminder: MLK Celebration – Courage of Character
The Milton Interfaith Clergy Association are sponsoring their annual memorial celebration of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The event will be Monday, Jan. 20, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Concord Baptist Church, 108 Blue Hill Ave. This year’s theme is the Courage of Character.
Rep. Walter Timilty Hosts Office Hours at Town Hall
Representative Walter Timilty (D – Milton) invites Milton residents to meet with him during his local office hours on Thursday, January, 30th. They will be held in the Baker Conference Room of the Milton Town Hall from 1:30pm until 2:30pm. No appointments are required.
