St. Michael’s Hosts Free, Educational Forums on Roman Catholic and Episcopal/Anglican Traditions
St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Milton is hosting a series of open forums focusing on the similarities and differences between the Episcopal/Anglican tradition and the Roman Catholic tradition. During the forums, participants will explore the fabled Henry VIII and his separation from Rome, the mystery of the shared Catholic faith, and the substantive differences in structures and moral authority in each church.
Timilty Attends Career Center Day at the State House

Among the agenda items at last Tuesday’s Selectmen’s meeting was a forum on two proposed 40B developments. The Selectmen were seeking public input in preparation of a response to the proposals. One is a 72 unit apartment complex to be built off Randolph Avenue near the current DPW yard. The other is at 131 Eliot Street, the Hendries building. Traffic, design, and density were among the issues raised regarding both.

Massachusetts General Laws (M.G.L.) Chapter 40B was enacted in 1969 requiring the production of affordable housing in all communities to support the long term economic interests of Massachusetts. Under Chapter 40B, in any municipality where less than 10% of its housing qualifies as affordable under the law, a developer can bypass local zoning and density limits if at least 25% of the new units have long-term affordability restrictions.
