I am not in any hurry to report that the Boys Basketball team was defeated by New Mission 71-63 in the MIAA Div 2 State Championship last night in the Boston Garden.

We share the opinion of the Milton Boosters, who on their Facebook page said, “The boys basketball team did a fantastic job this season. They should be very proud of themselves! We certainly are.”

Nomination papers are not due into the Town Clerk’s office until 5:00 this afternoon but a furry of papers were returned yesterday. The Town Clerk certified the signatures for all papers received to date and the only outstanding question this morning is whether there will be a contest for school committee. There will be contested seats for Assessor, Board of Health, Library Trustee, and Planning Board.

Yesterday saw no lack of competition in Milton – on the parquet, on the ice, on the wrestling mat, and on the chess board. Chees-a-Palooza returned to the Milton Public Library yesterday for the 3rd year running. And it was quite the crowd as this picture by Gene Boylan attests. We welcome your photos. Please send to frank@mytownmatters.com.
