Senate Passes Final Transportation Bond Bill – Milton receives $24.2 million in authorizations

The Massachusetts House and Senate have approved the final version of the Transportation Bond Bill that outlines potential state spending on road and bridge projects while saving Massachusetts taxpayers millions in interest payments by decreasing the bonding period from 30 to 20 years. Reporter’s Notebook- One to keep an eye on this fall: Cullinane’s run for reelection

Put this race down as one to watch in the fall: The 12th Suffolk House election. After winning a special election last year, Dan Cullinane, a Dorchester Democrat, is running for a full two-year term. Due to the Patriots Day Holiday on April 21, 2014 there will be no collections on Monday April 21, 2014.
Collections will start on Tuesday April 21 – Saturday April 26. Collections will be delayed one day all week

Regular Collections for Friday will occur on Saturday 04/26.

Pierce Middle School Receives Funds for Wellness Program

Pierce Middle School has been chosen to receive $1,864 to support its Fuel Up to Play 60 initiative, the New England Dairy & Food Council announced today. Pierce Middle School was selected from among hundreds of schools across the country that applied for funding to help them jumpstart and sustain healthy nutrition and physical activity improvements.
