First Parish in Milton is inviting one and all to join us on Sunday morning, April 20th at 10:30 am for a music-filled Easter Celebration that Spring has finally arrived. The choir’s finale, led by our eminent music director Emma Jean Moulton, will be a rousing rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah. Milton Library Teen Book Club Announces May Selection
The Milton Public Library’s teen book club has selected Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi as its May pick. “Aria and Perry, two teens from radically different societies–one highly advanced, the other primitive–hate being dependent on one another until they overcome their prejudices and fall in love, knowing they can’t stay together.”
We are Red Nation! Kieran Condon & Lauren Carey take top spots

Yesterday marked the first running of the Run for Red Nation and it was quite an affair that promises to be a new and great Milton tradition. The 5K fun run and walk was organized by MHS senior Brendan Hunt. Kieran Condon of Milton finished first for men with a time of 17:11 and Lauren Carey of Marshfield was the first woman to cross the finish with a time of 22:15. But there’s more. . .

While most of us were tucked comfortably in our beds during Saturday night’s cold rain, an intrepid group of volunteers was outside in Milton, flashlights in hand, getting soaked, frozen, but very happy. The volunteers in question included Win and Denise Swenson, Carol Hayes and Martha McDonough, along with Randy and Isabelle Scott, among others. (Read the full story here.)

Mozart’s Requiem at St. Michael’s Church
On April 18, St. Michael’s Church in Milton will hold a special Good Friday Concert at 7:30pm. Under the direction of St. Michael’s Director of Music, Frank Van Atta, the Chancel Choir and Schola Cantorum will join forces with the St. Michael’s Orchestra and soloists from Boston and New England Conservatories to present Mozart’s Requiem, along with the late John Tavener’s Eternal Memory for Cello and Orchestra.
State Senate Passes Bill Addressing Natural Gas Leaks
The following item may come as welcome news to many residents of the Commonwealth. A reader recently pointed out a news item in Wicked Local Brookline on the hazard of aging gas lines. Milton DPW Joe Lynch in an update to the Selectmen cited issues with the gas company and their failure to attend to gas trenches in a timely fashion. You can see a sample of gas leaks in Milton in following illustration.
