40B issue further delays Hendries demo agreement

In a previous post it was reported that the Selectmen had deferred a vote on the Hendries demolition agreement for the third time and continued the hearing until this Thursday. At issue is the eligibility letter Carrick Realty is expecting from Mass Housing regarding their 40B proposal. Carrick’s attorney, Brian McDonough, is asking that the deadline for filing the permit application be extended until the eligibility letter is in hand.

We who are lucky enough to live near the Blue Hills Reservation count our blessings. There are a lot of us — the Blue Hills comprise 7,000 acres and are spread over six towns: Braintree, Canton, Dedham, Milton, Quincy, and Randolph. Milton Crew Ergathon

Sisterhood Presents a Night of Comedy

The Sisterhood of Cong. Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills will sponsor “A Night of Comedy”, featuring Newton native Jon Fisch, on Sunday, June 1, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

A prolific monologist with universal appeal, Fisch focuses on the idiosyncrasies of city living. He has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central, VH1, and numerous comedy clubs.

MHS Boosters ‘Cans for Cats’ and Car Wash event Saturday 5/3

The Milton High School Boosters is sponsoring 2 fundraising events on Saturday, May 3rd for the high school athletic teams.

The “Cans for Cats” can & bottle recycling drive will be run by the girls softball team from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Milton High School. The girls will be at the front entrance of the high school, 25 Gile Road, to collect your 5 cent cans and bottles to redeem them for cash. Please stop by and support your Wildcats with your can donations.

Master Plan Forum addresses vibrant mixed use districts

Despite inclement weather, over 50 residents, merchants, and town officials attended the Master Plan Forum at Glover School last night. The topic was Vibrant Mixed Use Districts and focused on 4 areas of town: East Milton Sq, Central Avenue business area, Milton Village, and northern Granite Avenue.
