Starting and operating a business for a decade is an accomplishment. So it is natural that Milton photographer, Jess McDaniel, wanted to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Boston Baby Photos. What is a little more surprising is the $6,106.00 check she presented to the Jimmy Fund at the culmination of that celebration. Just one woman making a difference.

Why do you live here?

After our families, there is likely little that is as important to us as our houses and by extension our neighborhoods, and our town. The reasons for why we live exactly where we live vary and, likely, those reasons have changed over time. Houses become homes, places of memory, habit, and familiarity.
Currently there is a discussion underway about housing here in Milton. Developers, planning board members, town officials, consultants, real estate agents are all to some extent involved in this  discussion. It is a part of the ongoing master plan process, and it is very important to the future of this town. Here is why.

The Forbes House Museum, Milton Historical Society and Milton Public Library are pleased to announce the opening reception of the exhibit, Mary Bowditch Forbes and the FHM Lincoln Collection, to take place on Wednesday evening, 25 June, from 6-8pm in the second floor Local History Gallery at Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue, Milton.

Monday Night at the Movies: “Saving Mr. Banks” at the Milton Library

The Milton Public Library invites you to a special free showing of the film “Saving Mr. Banks” on Monday, June 23rd, at 6:30 p.m., in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the library, located at 476 Canton Avenue in Milton.  This free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library, is open to the public.

Garden Club seeks your support on Bottle Bill

Please consider signing the final petition required to place updating the Bottle Bill on this November’s ballot.  About 22,000 signatures from registered Massachusetts voters must be collected before June 7 to do this.

To make this as easy as possible, simply drive to Milton Public Library this afternoon, Monday, June 2nd from 2-6pm and Friday,  June 6 from 2-5:30pm.  Milton Garden Club volunteers with clipboards will be curbside to gather your LEGIBLE signature(s).  

Milton benefits from lottery fueled state aid

An article in today’s Boston Globe examines how Massachusetts localities benefit (or not) from state aid relative to the amounts they spend per capita on the lottery. The front page ranks MIlton 4th in the state in terms of the ratio of stae aid received to lottery revenue generated.
