Mtg notes: Selectmen 06.03.14 – Randolph 40B gets green light; trash pickup schedule likely to change

During her Town Administrator’s report at last night’s meeting of the Board of Selectmen, Annmarie Fagan announced that HD/MW Randolph Ave, LLC had received a letter of eligibility (site approval) from Mass Housing for a parcel on Randolph Ave on which they propose to build a 72 unit apartment complex under Chapter 40B (see related post here). This allows them to now file a comprehensive permit with the Milton Zoning Board of Appeals.

Frankie Gavin and De Dannan to headline WAM Celtic Music Fest

This year the 2nd WAM Music Fest is featuring a second day of music –  a Celtic Music celebration that will feature talent well known to locals (e.g. Pauline Wells & Devri) and a band from across the pond.. Frankie Gavin is a legendary fiddler from Ireland. He and De Dannan have been around a long time (search YouTube) and they will be headlining the event on Sunday June 22 from 1-7. Applications Available for Milton Police Department Cadet Examination

Screen Shot 2014-06-03 at 6.12.34 AMMilton Police Chief Richard G. Wells Jr. announces that applications are now being accepted for the position of Milton Police Cadet. The examination is open to all Milton residents as well as non-resident minority and female candidates between the ages of 18-22.  The cadet examination is on Saturday, June 28, 2014.

Milton Garden Club holding petition drive for Bottle Bill

We received the following notice from a member of the Milton Garden Club. You can find recent Boston Globe coverage of the issue here.

Please consider signing the final petition required to place updating the Bottle Bill on this November’s ballot. About 22,000 signatures from registered Massachusetts voters must be collected before June 7 to do this.

Brief bits: Planning Board focuses on housing; new bus service, Dan Cullinane has competition

The Planning Board meeting this coming Thursday and the posted agenda has the Master Plan Committee joining them for a second time in advance of the Master Plan Committees public Round Table on Housing and Neighborhoods to be held on June 11th at Cunningham Park. Of the three topics focused on by the Master Plan Committee this is the only one to receive this level of attention from the Planning Board.
