Milton’s proposal to construct a wind turbine on town own land leased to Quarry Hills, the operators of the Granite Link golf course, is continuing to meet with opposition. Most recently the Quincy City Council unanimously passed a resolution, which will be sent to the Milton Selectmen, objecting to the construction of the turbine. But that’s not all.
The Friends of Milton Crew held a fundraiser at Fuller Village that exceeded their expectations.
The group, which formed to establish a rowing team at Milton High, has raised $25,000, an amount that will enable them to qualify for a recently awarded 2:1 matching grant from the DCR.

A recent Globe article discussed the issue of high school student rankings and noted that some schools on the south shore have dispensed with them entirely. Dedham will stop giving rankings next year and will be joining Canton, Hingham, Cohasset, and Westwood as districts that view rankings as having no advantages. Paula Giroud McCann, Principal of Hingham High is quoted, “We found it did not help the kids, and sometimes hurt them.” And what about Milton?
