Congratulations to officers Joseph Bennett, Liam Roper, Russell Withrow and Sgt. Tom Wilson for an excellent piece of police work apprehending and identifying a Boston man on Ridge Rd at 1:00 am last night. The suspect had broken into cars on Willoughby Rd, Eliot St., and Eliot Circle. Many items recovered. Nice work, a commendable job!

Possible Post Office closings – Milton not on the list

You may have herd that the US Post Office is reviewing 3,600 outlets for closure. Of those there are 43 in Massachusetts. An article about the closures from today’s Globe can be found here.

Neither of the Milton Post Offices (Milton Village and East Milton) are on the list. You can find the list of possible closings here.

Boston bike-sharing starts today

If you commute into Boston you may be interested in new bike sharing program scheduled to start today. Stations around the city will have bikes available for public use.

It is on eof Boston’s efforts to go green and provide city residents with a low cost effective transportation option. Bike sharing programs exist here (Washington DC, Portland) and abroad (Paris, Montreal).

Milton’s Harry Richard is devoted to youth hockey

When the Boston Bruins skated to their first Stanley Cup in 39 years this year, it brought back memories for Harry Richard of Milton.

In the early 1970s, Richard was a young man cheering Bobby Orr, Phil Esposito and Derek Sanderson as they led the Bruins to two Stanley Cups. (Read the full story here.)
