This year marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of the last royal governor of Massachusetts, Thomas Hutchinson. To celebrate the life of this controversial and tragic figure, the Forbes House Museum has been offer a number of programs that investigate Hutchinson’s life.

The following are excerpts from arrest and incident logs provided by the Milton Police Department. All suspects are presumed to be not guilty until proven otherwise in a court of law.
On July 13 at 11:00 a.m., a resident of Ferncroft Road reported that sometime between July 12 and that morning, an unknown person or persons took a chair from her porch to one of the back windows of her home. Cigarette ashes were also found on her porch table. She said it did not appear as if anyone tried to break in, but it appeared as though someone was looking through her windows. The resident was not interested in filing a report, but just wanted police to be aware of this activity. (Read the full story here.)

The Friends of the Library is an organization of committed volunteers that has been supporting the Milton Public Library for over 30 years. They donate their time and energy to raise funds and sponsor activities that “enhance the Library’s role in the community.”

Governor Hutchinson Retreats from Milton to England – Again
The Forbes House Museum will continue its look back at Governor Hutchinson this fall with a re-enactment of his leaving Milton and cocktail reception at 88 Wharf Street.

At the 7/13 session of the Board of Selectmen members of the America Legion Post reiterated their disappointment with the town opposing them in their effort to resolve their dispute with SBA Communications. Specifically they took issue with town funds being expended on Town Counsel. It’s a long story.
Letter: Proposed traffic changes to East Milton Sq questioned

I’m very concerned about the traffic changes proposed for East Milton Square. I think they are in opposition to the findings of the consultant both in the need for the proposed new parking spaces and in the effectiveness of the traffic flow resulting.
