The state Department of Conservation and Recreation plans to chase federal stimulus dollars to finish off the Neponset Greenway trail as the agency appears to have finalized a proposal extending the riverside path by one mile. (Read the full story here.)
This is the sort of question that you might find intriguing or could drive you right around the bend.
For example, should the town appoint a financial manager? Should the assessors, accountants, treasurer et al be folded under a town financial manager that is appointed? Would it represent a first step in an overhaul of town hall operations or is everything just fine, thanks very much for asking?

Milton resident and Secretary of Transportation Jeffrey Mullan is going to leaving the office. He will be reoplaced by current head of MBTA, Richard Davey. Mullan is returning to the private sector. Dave will assume the post on 9/1. You can find Boston.com coverage here.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t make the night out hosted by The Milton Police Department; but I think everyone else in town went. Judging by the crowds, it was a great community builing event and they deserve a hearty thank you.
Update: A picture of the new Hendries concept has been added as well as notes on other items that were discussed.
At the July 28th meeting of the Planning Board revisions to the development of the Hendries building were presented by Warren Daniel, architect for Connelly Construction. Mr. Daniel noted that the essential footprint was the same, however, there were two important changes.
The Town Clerk has posted a version of the town’s new precinct map online. Unlike the draft precinct map from the state, this one is a PDF with clear street labels. You can zoom in and scroll and clearly see which streets are in a given precinct.
