A recent item in the New York Times recently identified Boston, Cambridge, Quincy as the safest walking city in the United States. They didn’t mention Milton but that’s because we are off the charts.

The latest news efforts to secure federal funding for the Neponset Greenway trail. A year after the state passed legislation requiring schools to develop antibullying plans and train staff and students to report anything that could be incidents of bullying, Milton’s top school official said the number of reported incidents has increased. (Read the full story here.)
Some have worried it might never happen. Others would rather it didn’t but if the DCR wins a $10 million dollar federal grant the Neponset Greenway may run continuously from Pope John Paul Park to Hyde Park. The area under consideration would connect Central Ave in Milton with Mattapan Square.
