Teen Creative Writing Workshop with Kathryn Burak
On Monday, February 10 at 7 p.m., the Milton Public Library will host a creative writing workshop led by Kathryn Burak for local teens. Ms. Burak is a Milton resident, a teacher at Boston University, the poetry editor at YARN (yareview.net), and the author of the Edgar Award-nominated young adult novel, Emily’s Dress and Other Missing Things. The workshop will focus on tips and techniques for writing fiction.

Developer Opposes Site for Animal Shelter Development

The Milton Animal League (MAL) held the second of their neighborhood meetings to discuss the proposal of building a new shelter on town owned property off of Randolph Avenue via access road to old town dump. It was sparsely attended. Four residents did take advantage of the opportunity to voice their concern with the shelter’s location and design as well as question the financing.

On January 28th , The Men’s Club of Fuller Village hosted Ian Cooke, Executive Director of the Neponset River Watershed Association. The Wakefield Estate will host its 4th annual Winterfire this Saturday, February 1, from 5:00 – 7:00pm. This annual event combines lightscape with landscape to highlight many of the estate’s signature trees and garden features against a deep mid-winter sky. After a garden stroll, join others for some hot chocolate and a roast a hot dog on an open fire.
Representative Timilty Files Amendments for Milton Public Safety Initiatives
Representative Walter F. Timilty (D–Milton) is pleased to announce two amendments that have been filed to House Bill 3860, the upcoming House of Representative iteration of a Transportation Bond Bill.
Through conversations with town department heads, Representative Timilty was able to formulate two amendments improving Milton’s transportation infrastructure, relative to public safety.
