Sustainable Milton will be hosting their annual Green Home Fair at Cunningham Hall on Saturday April 26 from 12:00 – 4:00. Admission is free and there will be a free raffle. The fair features rebates, tax credits, and energy saving information along with tips for a healthy home, garden, and you! Kids activities include a live animal presentation and eco-crafts.

Have you experienced the loss of a loved one in the past year? You aren’t alone. Sessions for those experiencing loss through death of a family member or friend begin on Tuesday, April 29, and continue for for 7 consecutive Tuesdays, ending June 3, 2014. at St Mary of the Hills Rectory, Milton from 6:00-7:30 pm

A random event sparked a moment of artistic reflection which was relayed to a man who then had a great idea and wouldn’t take no for an answer and so it happened that the Run Again Project Came to Life. Why you should run or walk for Red Nation

This Sunday the Run for Red Nation will take place at Cunningham Elementary School at 9:00am.This fun 5K fun run & walk is being organized by MHS senior Brendan Hunt and I can think of about 64 reasons why you should there. Those would be the ~44 afterschool clubs and activities and the ~20 sports teams that provide hundreds of MHS students with the athletic, recreational, social, creative, and critical opportunities they need to have a complete and well rounded education.

Milton Matters Candidates Forum

The 3rd Annual Milton Matters Candidates Forum will take place this Saturday, April 12th at 2:00pm at Fuller Village (1372 Brush Hill Road). Candidates from all town wide contested offices will be present. The forum is hosted by MyTownMatters in partnership with the MHS Debate team which will moderate the forum and ask the questions.

This forum provides residents a unique opportunity to hear from the candidates first hand and evaluate their qualifications and positions on the issues. Hope to see you there.

Milton Public School Students Excel in Forbes House Contest

Students from the Milton Public Schools won recognition in many categories of this year’s Lincoln Essay & Drawing Contest, sponsored by the Forbes House Museum.

Winning students were honored at a ceremony held at St. Agatha School last week. This year, the Forbes House Museum received more than 1,000 essays and more than 400 drawings, for a total of 1,425 contest submissions. 

Film: “The Book Thief” at the Milton Public Library

The Milton Public Library invites you to a special showing of “The Book Thief” on Monday, April 28th, at 6:30 p.m., in the Keys Community Room (lower level) of the library, located at 476 Canton Avenue in Milton.  This free event, sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Public Library, is open to the public.

I am proud and fortunate of being a lifelong resident of Milton. I married someone who also is a lifelong resident of Milton and we are raising two children here. We are proud that Milton is an award winning residential community and it attracts good families because of this. 

GENEROSITY, HARD WORK, & COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY EARN PERMANENT HOME FOR TEMPLE

Last night’s Planning Board session was an evening, as one attendee put it, that was remarkable for Congregation Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills and remarkable for our town. An incredibly thorough presentation coupled with a demonstration of community solidarity resulted in a positive outcome for the Marvin and Andrea Gordon’s gift of land to Temple Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills. In a unanimous vote, the Planning Board approved a subdivision plan for the property. The Congegation, after years of searching, can now have a new permanent home in Milton.
