The House Was Quiet And The World Was Calm by Wallace Stevens

The house was quiet and the world was calm.
The reader became the book; and summer night

Was like the conscious being of the book.
The house was quiet and the world was calm.

I was appointed to the Board of Health in July, 2013 to replace Attorney Timothy Lowney. In my time on the board, I have observed, first hand, how helpful it is to have an attorney as a member, especially one with public health expertise.

Reminder: Tomorrow (4/7) is Nat’l Snapshot Day at the Library

National Library Snapshot Day is coming to the Milton Public Library on Monday April 7, 2014. We will join libraries across the Commonwealth and the nation to provide a “snapshot” of what happens in a day in the life of libraries. How many books are checked out? How many people receive help finding a job? Doing their taxes? Doing their homework? During Snapshot Day, libraries will collect data and photos that help demonstrate the value of libraries and raise public awareness that libraries are busier than ever.
