Bishop Feehan ousts Fontbonne in MIAA volleyball

The Bishop Feehan High girl’s volleyball team had second-seeded Fontbonne Academy on the ropes early, winning the first two games of the Division 2-South quarterfinal matchup Tuesday night, but eventually needed to play five to advance, 3-2. (Read the full story here.)

Young Adult Film Series: Remember the Titans

The Milton Public Library will be screening Remember the Titans as part of their Young Adult Film Series. Starring Denzel Wahsington, the film tells the true story of an African-American coach hired to coach a high school team in the deep south during the early years of integration. Meeting set for Lower Mills bridge project

A public meeting  is set for Nov. 17 (at 6:30 p.m. in the Park Mill function room of the Baker Square Condominiums on Adams St) for Department of Conservation and Recreation officials to talk up plans to convert Lower Mills’ former railroad bridge over the Neponset River into a pedestrian bridge.

Built in 1917, the bridge is between Dorchester and Milton and was aimed at serving the Walter Baker Chocolate Factory, which has since been converted into condominiums. (Read the full story here.)

14 Teams take up the Eco-Team Challenge

On Saturday, October 30, 2010, Sustainable Milton launched the 2010 Eco Team Challenge at a kickoff event at the Milton Public Library and 14 teams, composed of almost 50 people, have answered the call.
