The Milton Cultural Council invites artists, individuals, non-profit organizations, and schools to apply for grants that support Milton based cultural activities. The deadline for grants is October 15th.

There was another accident in the vicinity of the entrance to the Milton Public Library last Wednesday. Any accident is a bad accident. This would the the 7th accident in that spot we are aware of. Please use care.
TSA to blame in death of teen stowaway

The House Committee on Homeland Security said the TSA is to blame in the death of 16-year-old Delvonte Tisdale, who allegedly was a stowaway in the wheel well of an airplane.
Tisdale’s body was found in Milton. It is believed that he fell to his death from the wheel well of the plane. (Read teh full story here.)

Car-Free Week starts Monday – give it a go!
Massachusetts joins over 1,000 cities in 40 countries around the globe to celebrate World Car-Free Day on September 22, 2011. World Car-Free Day began in Europe and has quickly spread to communities globally as a way to promote the environmental, financial, community, and health benefits of using public transportation, carpooling, bicycling, walking, and teleworking. This year, Massachusetts celebrates all week, with activities and events happening between September 18-24.

Mtg notes: Selectmen 09.14.11 – Brush Hill traffic debate, Kippenberger applauded, Czwakiel appointed
At the 9/14 session of the Board of Selectmen a proclamation was read acknowledging Linda Kippenberger’s years of service to the town, Ray Czwakiel was appointed to an interim seat on the Library Board of Trustees, and efforts to address safety at the intersection of Brush Hill Road and Truman Parkway were discussed not once, but twice.
