A New Perspective for the New Year – I See You: Opening Our Eyes to the Biodiversity of the Blue Hills

As New Year approaches, many of us mull over how we can make next year better for ourselves, our families and our communities. Maybe part of acting differently next year involves thinking differently about each other and the world around us. Let us know if you find food for thought in this excerpt from Professor Jonathan Twining’s address entitled “I See You: Opening Our Eyes to the Biodiversity of the Blue Hills.”

A GOOD AGE: Thankful for a sense of renewal at year’s end

Local sports photgrapher Roy Chmabers has psotd some videos on YouTube. He recently captured somehockey action featuring Brian Higgins of the Wildcats in a game against Norwood. Milton would fall to Norwood 3-2. You can view the video here.

Curry coach earns Ron Burton Award

Feds reject request for Neponset River Corridor grant

The police log: knife found wrapped in rag, gas smell at Collicot School

Here are some incidents reported to Milton Police during the past week and over the weekend. A full list is available at police headquarters, 40 Highland St.

On Saturday, Dec. 17 at 6:24 p.m., a resident on Armor Road reported that her son had found a knife wrapped in a red rag nearby. Police took a report and brought the knife back to the station. (Read the full story here.)

Blue Hills Ski Area lacks snow on the slopes

Copeland Foundation to Milton Animal League – MERRY CHRISTMAS!

At the 12/21 Board of Selectmen’s meeting, Linda Palmer, President of the Milton Animal League shared with the board a letter she had received from Cody & Cody, the law firm retained by the Copeland Family Foundation. Christmas came a little early to the league in the form of a grant from the foundation of $1,000,000 to fund the building of a new shelter on the Governor Stoughton land.
