Milton Soccer registration open

Milton Soccer registration is open. Sign up now for our developmental program for kids in K – 2nd grade, or our travel program for kids in 3rd – 8th grade. Information about the programs as well as on-line registration can be found at www.miltonmasoccer.org. Milton Soccer’s Annual Board meeting is Monday January 13th at 7pm at the Milton Public Library in the Keys Community Room. Public welcome.

photo by Chris WareBeginning January 2nd, the Wotiz Gallery of the Milton Public Library will host a photography exhibit featuring a variety of prints by Paul Ware. Paul is a former Milton resident and longtime member of the South Shore Camera Club. He is also a 2009 graduate of Boston University’s Center for Digital Imaging and Arts in Waltham.

DPW asks for resident cooperation re: trash and hydrants

The Milton Department of Public Works asks that due to the snow residents please attend to the following:

  1. Do not place trash barrels in the street as it makes it difficult for trucks to navigate. Place barrels on top of snow banks.
  2. If you have a hydrant near your property please take some time to dig it out.

Gluten free Sammi’s stuff now at Fruit Center

For those on a gluten free diet there is some good news. Sammi’s Stuff is now available at the Fruit Center according to a tweet that the company issued. According to their web site, Sammi’s Stuff is “on a mission to be the premier provider of quality, tasty gluten-free desserts – cupcakes, cookies, brownies and more.

Michael Capuano and Stephen Lynch, two congressmen whose districts include portions of Milton, appeared at a forum last night to listen to and address resident concerns regarding the impacts of air traffic over Milton. Noise was the principal concern, but not the only one.

Milton man charged with Boston murder

Two men have been charged with murder in the shooting death on Saturday of a man in Dorchester.
Omar Denton, 29, of Milton, and Omar Bonner, 26, of Hyde Park, have been charged with murder and will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court, Boston police said in a statement. (Read the full story here.)
