Milton seeks new “Master Plan”

John Cronin, former Town Administrator and current member of the Master Plan Committee provided the following historic perspective and background on master planning here in Milton.

Milton’s first “Master Plan” was voted unanimously by the July 10, 1922 Special Open Town Meeting and remains in force. Milton decided to be a “residential community”. 91 years ago, the entire town was zoned “residential” except for the small East Milton, Milton Village and Central Avenue business districts at the railroad stations.

School tackles sexual assault

Meeting: Planning Board

The Planning Board will be meeting on ThursdayJanuary 2nd at 6:30pm in the John Cronin Conference Room at Town Hall. The agenda includes but is not limited to a review of town zoning map for May Town Meeting, zoning articles for May Town Meeting, and review of landscape plan for Milton Hill Apartments. Fruit Center closes out 40th anniversary year with string of successes

This year has been a big year for the Fruit Center. It has been celebrating its 40th anniversary by continuing to improve the quality of its offerings and service to the community. The Mignosa family, owners of the Fruit Center, are proud of the demonstrated success they’ve enjoyed over the past 12 months.

Meeting: Board of Selectmen

The Board of Selectmen will be meeting in the John Cronin Conference Room at Town Hall on Monday, December 30th at 6:30PM. The agenda includes but is not limited to a series of approvals (2014 Liquor Licenses, Senior Project Road Race, Canton Water agreement, 502 Granite Ave Signage) and a discussion of 2014 Town Meeting articles. FBI seeks help in identifying bank robbery suspect

The FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking help from the public in identifying a serial bank robber known as the “Brim Beanie Bandit.” He is alleged to have robbed four banks, including ones in Stoughton, Quincy and Braintree.
