Flight path review period extended

In response to concerns raised by Milton residents and Senator Brian A. Joyce, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has extended the review period for flight path changes at Runway 33L out of Boston Logan Airport from six months to one year. The extension will allow for the runway to be monitored in the busiest time of the year, the winter, when wind patterns often steer more departures to the runway and over the town of Milton.

Milton Reads, the town wide cultural initiative sponsored by the Friends of the Milton Library, held a trivia contest at Abby Park late Sunday afternoon that was themed to the Milton Reads book selection The Gardner Heist: The True Story of the World’s Largest Unsolved Art Theft by Ulrich Boser. And what a contest it was!

MPD Notice: Break in suspect under arrest

For the last two weeks detectives have been conducting surveillance on an individual who they had developed good information about. This suspect is believed to be responsible for several breaks in town. Detectives initially had a Neponset Ave, Dorchester address and later determined he had moved, staying with a family member on Stoughton Terrace in Dorchester.

This year’s ¡CelebrateMilton! event will be held Sunday, October 6th from noon to 4 pm at Milton High School if the weather is good and at Collicot/Cunningham if it’s not.

Sargent’s Watercolors Will Inspire Adult Art Class

Beginning and advance art students may register for the Adult Painting Class offered by Beth Neville. Both watercolor and oil techniques will be explored in her Milton art studio for eight weeks starting Tuesday, October 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. Beginning students learn basic art principles such as mixing paints, composition, and perspective. Advanced students develop their own special style and original viewpoint.
