In response to concerns raised by Milton residents and Senator Brian A. Joyce, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has extended the review period for flight path changes at Runway 33L out of Boston Logan Airport from six months to one year. The extension will allow for the runway to be monitored in the busiest time of the year, the winter, when wind patterns often steer more departures to the runway and over the town of Milton.
“I’m thankful to the FAA for hearing the concerns of Milton residents and taking the time to fully understand the impact Runway 33L is having on the town,” said Joyce. “By studying the runway during its peak use the FAA will have a clearer picture of the excessive number of planes being sent over Milton.”
In August, Joyce sent a letter to the FAA asking that an additional six months be added to the review period for the changes to runway 33L at Boston Logan Airport to better understand the impacts of the changes being made to the flight path.
