More than two million couples wed every year in the United States, bringing together a whole new family unit. Critical in-laws? Uncooperative or defensive adult children? Long distance (and touchy) family relationships? Discover better ways to communicate. On Tuesday, October 8 at 7 p.m. Dr. Ruth Nemzoff will share a witty and engaging talk about parenting adult children, relationships and family dynamics. Come to the lower level of the Milton Public Library, 476 Canton Avenue in Milton. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served.
Dr. Ruth knows what she’s talking about. She is the author of two leading books on the subject: Don’t Bite Your Tongue: How to Foster Rewarding Relationships with your Adult Children and Don’t Roll Your Eyes: Making In-Laws into Family.
She is a resident scholar at the Women’s Studies Research Center at Brandeis University and her papers are archived at the Schlesinger Library at Harvard University where she also holds a doctorate in social policy. She has served three terms in the New Hampshire Legislature and was the New Hampshire Deputy Commissioner of Health and Welfare. She is the mother of four adult children, four in-law children and grandmother of seven. She lives in Brookline, MA with her husband Harris Berman, Dean of Tufts University School of Medicine.
