Letter: Caution urged on East Milton parking report

East Milton Parking Study

The Board of Selectmen should be cautious in considering the East Milton Square Parking study report. It asks the Town to replace the landscaped Manning Park, over the Expressway, with a 40 space parking lot, diagonally opposite from Fitness Unlimited.

Letter: State House Update for Milton

from Senator Brian A. Joyce

Dear Milton Neighbor,

After weeks of debate, the Massachusetts Senate passed an expanded gambling bill this evening. I voted for the bill, which provides for three casinos licenses, divided by region, along with one competitively bid slot license. A similar bill previously passed the House, and a final measure will soon become law.

Letter: “Rachel’s Challenge”: Appropriate for our Schools?

Letter from Michael Chinman

Milton’s High School and Middle School have announced that the “Rachel’s Challenge” program will be presented to their students on October 4 and 5, as part of their anti-bullying campaign. Named for Rachel Scott, one of thirteen victims murdered at Columbine High School by two student gunmen, the program was founded by Rachel’s father, who has also released a number of books and DVDs proclaiming Rachel to be a Christian martyr.

Letter: Hodlin thanks supporters

I want to THANK all those who helped me get elected to represent the citizens of Milton as Library Trustee.  The outpouring of volunteers who held signs, wrote dear friend cards and provided financial support was humbling.  I also want to thank my neighbors in Precinct 3 for re-electing me to Town Meeting.

Letter: Funding for Milton’s Roads

from the office of Senator Joyce

Dear Neighbor,

I’m pleased to announce that legislation was passed yesterday that apportions $621,708 for road and bridge improvements for Milton. This funding level represents a 29% increase over the funding apportioned to Milton during the current fiscal year. This funding is especially important this year because of the extreme weather we had this winter, and the resulting poor road conditions.
