To the Editor:
Last Thursday, I submitted an article to the Board of Selectmen for the November 7th Special Town Meeting. The article asks the Moderator to appoint a committee of seven citizens to study our town government in order to make recommendations that would improve local government’s efficiency and effectiveness.
While our current form of government has served the town well, it certainly makes sense to determine whether changes that will benefit the taxpayers are warranted. Since its incorporation in 1662, Milton has evolved significantly. With a 2011 budget of almost $90 million, we should ensure that our town governance structure similarly evolves.
