The Milton High girls volleyball team won’t need the Sullivan Rule this season.

The Democratic Town Committees of Avon, Canton, Easton, Milton, Randolph, Sharon and Stoughton are pleased to announce a “Get Out the Vote” event. These committees have joined together to sponsor a Regional Coordinated Campaign event to be held on October 16, 2014 at the Canton Town Club located at 300 Bailey Street in Canton from 6:00 Pm to 10:00 PM. All statewide Democratic Candidates have been invited to attend, as well as all state Senators and Representatives from these sponsoring towns. Light refreshments and a cash bar will be available from 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM, followed by presentations by various statewide and County candidates and officials. Opportunities will be available to meet the candidates and to ask questions.

Please be advised that the new Trash, Recycling and Yard Waste collection schedule will no longer have delays due to the Columbus Day holiday occurring on a Monday October 13, 2014.Please Remember that If a holiday occurs on a Monday, Tuesday or Friday there will be regular collections for that week on Wednesday and Thursday, (NO DELAYS).

Last year, Celebrate Milton!, an annual event that champions the town’s diversity and sense of community, was cancelled due to the weather’s failure to cooperate. Yesterday was a different story. Aside from a little wind, the weather was perfect. And so it was fitting that the organizers took the opportunity to honor both this year and last year’s Community Builders.
“Nutrition and Aging” will be the topic of guest speaker Alegria Cohen, the Lead Clinical Dietitian at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center, at the next Beth Shalom of the Blue Hills Brunch Speaker Series on Sunday, Oct. 19th, at the Pierce Middle School in Milton. The brunch and talk are open to the public.
The Milton 5K Gobbler for Best Buddies Massachusetts will be run on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Cunningham School. Registration is from 7:00am – 8:45am.
The race is on for this year’s Golden Gobblers trophies! Join the fun and your chance at taking home gold and support a great cause with the Milton 5K Gobbler for Best Buddies.
On Thursday, October 30 from 6 to 8pm, the teen department at the Milton Public Library will host a Teen Cosplay Fashion Show! Register to walk the runway dressed up as your favorite character from a video game, movie, book, manga or anime. Participants will be judged on creativity, accuracy, craftmanship, and overall audience response to the piece.
There’s always something cool for kids to do at the Milton Public Library! For example: have you seen our brand-new aquarium? Please drop by and meet our fishy friends just outside of the Story Hour Room. And of course, there are always children’s programs to attend! In addition to our regular storytimes on Tuesday and Wednesday, we have these exciting programs for the young people in your life happening during the week of October 12 – 18:
