Interim minister Reverend Hank Peirce of First Parish in Milton commissions the students and teachers for this year’s Religious Exploration program

First Parish in Milton offers a robust Religious Exploration program for both kids and adults, and we welcome all to visit.

Our classes revolve around the Seven Principles of Unitarian Universalism, which offer a guide rather than a doctrine. The principles encourage us to respect all living things, to treat each other with justice and compassion, to search for truth and meaning, and to use the democratic process, among other values.

Among our notable programs are Spirit Play, Neighboring Faiths, Our Whole Lives (OWL), Coming of Age, and Children’s Church.

Spirit Play, for children in kindergarten through second grade, is a Montessori-based curriculum that provides a story-based introduction to the Unitarian Universalist faith.

In Neighboring Faiths, our seventh-graders explore other faith traditions by learning about their beliefs and visiting other places of worship.

OWL helps our adolescents to make knowledgeable and responsible decisions about their sexual health and behavior.

In Coming of Age, high schoolers further their faith development, working with adult mentors and creating personal credos.

On the first Sunday of every month, our historic Children’s Church comes alive with an energetic, music-filled service co-led by children and adults.

We have a large and very active Youth Group who regularly volunteer, plan social events and fundraisers, and build community both within the group and in the larger world.

We also have a nursery where children up to age four are lovingly cared for during Sunday services, which take place at 10:30 am.

Family events throughout the year include a Halloween/Día de los Muertos party (this year on Friday, October 24), a Holiday Craft Night and Family Dinner (Friday, December 12), and a Seder (Friday, April 10). The public is welcome at all of these events.

This is just a sampling of our offerings! We are a welcoming congregation that encourages all to grow deep faith and take bold action—come see for yourself!

We are located at 535 Canton Avenue in Milton, and again our Sunday service is at 10:30am. You can reach the Church office at 617-698-6329, you can find us on the web at www.fpmilton.org, and you can check us out on Facebook. Hope to see you soon.
