There will be two final open houses for the public to give input on the Master Plan. They are scheduled for Sunday, October 19 from 1-4pm at Fuller Village on Brush Hill Road and October 25 from 1-4pm in the Keys Community Room at the Milton Public Library.

What could be more spectacular than fall foliage? Sunset from atop Great Blue! Enjoy the season’s finest colors this fall from the region’s highest hill. There ail be a sunset hike to the top of Great Blue Hill on Saturday, October 18 from 4:00 – 7:00pm (sunset is around 6:00).

Rowing is growing
An article in the calendar section of today’s Boston Globe highlights the growth of the sport of rowing at the high school level. Milton High is among the schools discussed. Milton has an entry in the Women’s Youth 8’s in the upcoming Head of the Charles (scheduled to go off at 12:48 on Sunday 10/19 – Go Wildcats!). You can find the Globe article here.

Milton Business owners- another Milton Business was successfully hit by these phone scammers today. The victim was beat for $1000 in the same type phone scam using a CVS ‘green dot” prepay card. We have consulted with NSTAR Security and this issue has been happening throughout the nation. PLEASE DO NOT ENGAGE WITH anyone WHO CALLS YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS looking for immediate payment of any kind.
New non-profit event calendar unveiled

A group of Milton non-profits have gotten together on a couple of occasions to explore ways to better collaborate and communicate with the community they all serve. Robin M. Tagliaferri, Executive Director of the Forbes House Museum, has been helping to move this initiative along. One idea that came from the group was a joint community calendar in which all local organizations could enter their events.

Today is last day to register to vote
Today is the deadline to register to vote in this November’s election. There is a Governor’s race and a couple of important referendums (referenda? whatever . . .but important, including a bottle bill, gasoline tax, casinos etc. Learn more here).
