The Milton Library Foundation is hosting their 10th Annivaersary Literary GalaThe Milton LIbrary Foundation’s online silent auction is now open. You can check it out here. It is part of their 10th Anniversary Literary Gala festivities. Here are six reasons they are having their auction.
1. It’s something new and fun to mark our first decade of literary celebrations in support of the Milton Public Library.
2. Opening the bidding to everyone, in Milton and beyond, seems like a better idea than allowing only Gala attendees to participate.
3. We want to expand our fundraising horizon beyond Milton to increase support for the library. Forward this email to your friends.
4. Our auction donors deserve better recognition and the gratitude of our entire community. An extended online auction does it!
5. Opening the auction for a week allows everyone to find the time to peruse the items. And bid.
6. No need to hang around your computer (or the auction tables). Your smart phone can notify you when you’ve been outbid.
If you are attending the Gala and wish to continue bidding during the reception, bring your fully-charged smart phone or iPad. Tell your friends!!
Milton residents are fortunate to have three vibrant organizations supporting our public library, its Director and staff.
The Milton Library Foundation is an independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation that raises funds to supplement municipal support for library services and collections, to support a grants program for innovative initiatives proposed by library staff and to fund new technology and capital projects.
A board of nine elected Trustees sets library policies and approves expenditures of tax dollars.
The Friends of the Milton Public Library is a membership organization providing volunteers and funding through dues and the Friends Book Shop for many of the programs and events held at the Library each week.
