Local Author to Speak at St. Agatha Church About Miraculous Cure at Medugorje
On Sunday, December 14, well-known author Arthur Boyle will speak on his experience of being healed at Medugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovina . He is the author of _Six Months to Live: Three Guys on the Ultimate Quest for a Miracle. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at St. Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton.
2014 Veterans Day Observance on the Town Hall Green

Last Tuesday Milton commemorated Veteran’s Day with a short parade and ceremony at town hall. The weather was mild for a November day and fitting for what was a short, tender moment of reflection and respect. The keynote speaker was a veteran of the Viet Nam war (and former Town Administrator and Chief of Police), Kevin Mearn, who said, there is “no mystery behind the endurance and resources of our liberty.” It is the sacrifice of our veterans who have come to the service of our country.
Forbes House Museum and Ireland’s Great Famine: Who Knows the Story? Part I

In February 1847, the New England Relief Committee, a group of Boston business and community leaders, assembled in Faneuil Hall to organize a humanitarian voyage to Ireland at the height of the Great Famine. Donations of food and cash were receive from individuals, church and community groups from across New England. In April 1847, eight hundred tons of food and other provisions were brought to Cork, Ireland aboard the USS Jamestown.
Forbes House Museum presents series on Milton’s connection with Ireland’s Great Famine
Beginning today 02186/MyTownMatters is working in cooperation with the Forbes House Museum to present a series of short stories and illustrations on Ireland’s Great Famine and its connection to Milton and Boston. The first feature article gives background information on the Forbes House Museum’s association with the Famine with introduction to a series of Famine illustrations by John Mahony (c. 1810- 1879), illustrator for the Illustrated London News. We are proud to be associated with the Forbes House Museum in this initiative.

The Milton Police report that a home on Brewster Road broken into today between 10:30 and 11:00 a home on. According to MPD Facebook post, “Access to the home was gained by the back door being kicked in. Please keep a watchful eye on your home and your neighbors homes.
Milton singer Pauline Wells to perform Christmas Concert
Pauline Wells is returning to the Norwood Theater to offer her very first “Christmas Concert” on Firday December 5th at 7:30pm. It has been a very busy year for Pauline since her sold out Celtic Crossing show in Norwood last year. She has just completed a touching and heartfelt 9/11 Tribute concert at Memorial Hall in Plymouth, and this past May she performed before a crowd of 25,000 at the National Law Enforcement Candlelight Vigil in Washington DC.

The Massachusetts Air National Guard has advised the Mass Emergency Management Agency (MEMA) that on Thursday, November 13th, five F-15 fighter jets from Barnes Air National Guard Base will fly over areas of eastern and southeastern Massachusetts at low altitudes (between 1000’ and 5000’) as part of a pre-planned media event.
