Screen Shot 2014-11-14 at 7.09.57 AMOn Sunday, December 14, well-known author Arthur Boyle will speak on his experience of being healed at Medugorje, Bosnia-Hercegovina . He is the author of _Six Months to Live: Three Guys on the Ultimate Quest for a Miracle. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. at St. Agatha Church, 432 Adams Street, Milton.

In 1999, Boyle was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer) that spread to his lungs. The doctors gave him less than 5% chance for survival. At the urging of two dear friends, he went to Medjugorje, an apparition site of the Blessed Virgin Mary that began in 1981. It was in Medjugorje that Boyle believes he was healed by Jesus through the intercession of Mary and by way of the sacrament of reconciliation and the power of forgiveness. His book tells the story of his miraculous recovery.

This event is free and open to the public. However, following Artie’s talk there will be an opportunity to make a free will donation to St. Agatha Parish’s project to feed the poor in Burkina Faso, Africa. The church hopes to raise $5,000 to feed 10,000 people, and on April 11, 2015, parishioners will package meals of rice and vitamins through the Helping Hands program sponsored by Catholic Relief Services and Stop Hunger Now.
