In front of a packed gymnasium, Milton High School teacher Dan Jarboe was surprised with an incredible award for teaching – a Patriots hat, T-shirt and a pair of tickets to Sunday’s AFL Championship Patriots/Colts game at Gillette Stadium.
Milton High School Principal James Jette made the announcement to the nearly 1,000 students who were assembled in the Copeland Field House on Thursday morning that Mr. Jarboe had been selected for this award. Kaitlin Barnett, a member of the New England Patriots staff, arrived with the gear and the tickets.
“As part of the ‘Do Your Job,” playoff campaign, we are making it a point to reward hardworking employees,” Ms. Barnett told the crowd. She explained to the students that The Kraft family, through its family foundation and the New England Patriots Charitable Foundation, is committed to giving back and has a long tradition of supporting educational missions.
“Bill Belichik’s new mantra is ‘Do your job,’ and we are finding people throughout New England who are very good at doing their jobs,” Ms. Barnett said. “Mr. Jarboe was recommended to us by a Milton High School parent and we were happy to come and reward him for his hard work.”
Congratulations to Dan Jarboe. Mr. Jarboe is an outstanding educator and role model for all young men. He has the gift of knowledge, caring and integrity, necessary to inspire young people to “do their best,” and “never give up.”
