Review: The Milton Player stage “Leading Ladies”

In its seventy-seventh season, the Milton Players opened its final production of the season Friday night with Leading Ladies a comedy by Ken Ludwig, directed by Rich White.

Set in a 1951 Pennsylvania town, Leading Ladies revolves around two down-at-their-luck actors who conspire to deceive a dying millionairess by claiming to be her heirs.

Milton teacher wins teaching award

Pierce Middle School science teacher Jenifer Gilbert received the 2010 AMgen Award for Science Teaching Excellence in Massachusetts Friday during a surprise assembly.

Gilbert is one of only four teachers in Massachusetts and 34 teachers nationwide to win the award.(Read the full story here.)

Police investigate home invasion in Milton, Mass.

A Brockton man is in custody for possession of machine guns after a reported home invasion in a high-priced Milton neighborhood. Police say a safe containing cash and jewelry is missing from the house.
