Ms. Gormley, Superintendent of Schools, sent an email this afternoon informing parents and staff that a suspect had been identified.
The suspect is a 14-year old freshman. He will be charged in Quincy District Court as a juvenile. Administrative action from the Milton Public Schools has also been initiated. Gormley noted that it has been costly and highly publicized ordeal.
The suspect had announced to his friends that he planned to place ammunition in the high school on Tuesday, according to a police release. Authorities also say that the bullets planted were stolen from a South Shore gun club.
According to police, the suspect stole two boxes of .22-caliber ammunition from a local gun club he attended with a friend’s father. The student had been showing off the ammo to friends in school for several month
The student has been charged with procession of ammunition, disturbance of the peace and disturbance of a school assembly.
The arrest came about as a result of last night’s forum. Two parents came forward with information that “proved to be vital to the identification of the suspect.”
Superintendent Gormley goes on to say:
“We want to thank all of those who have been of assistance especially the Milton Police Department.
