The Friends of the Milton Library are sponsoring a guided tour of Holy Cross Cathedral in the South End, Saturday, April 2 @ 10:30am. Milton resident & Archbishop Williams HS theology teacher, Bob Brearley will lead this tour through the largest church in New England.

From Fenway Seats to a South African Safari – Get ready to bid at the Big Backyard Bash!

This year’s Celebration for Education, The Big Backyard Bash, will feature a wide selection of great live and silent auction items. The silent auction features more than 125 items, including travel, entertainment, gifts, services and art from professionals and Milton students alike. The live auction includes a golf getaway in Newport, a White House and Capital Tour, a South African photo safari, trips to Jackson Hole and Ireland, a wine tasting, historic Fenway seats, the chance to pitch with Rich Hill, and even your very own backyard bash – in your own backyard!

Milton Garden Club announces 2011 Scholarship Grant

The Milton Garden Club wishes to grant a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior from the Town of Milton who:

  • has demonstrated a serious interest in conservation/horticulture or landscape design by taking part in programs, events, and work projects or community service during their high school career;

There is a lot of pent-up interest in the proposals that were recently submitted regarding the RFP put out by the Board of Selectmen for the Stoughton land or Poor Farm. Patience will be in order while the selectmen review the submissions. Missing from the submissions was any proposal from the group Milton Town Farm.

I am running for Milton Library Trustee to utilize my skills, experience, and passion to advance the mission of our library. If elected, I will contribute my energy, ideas, and support to the trustees and continue the work of offering our town a rich local repository of resources and information in all its forms, with free access for all.
